In 2020, Moreton Hire set a new industry benchmark at the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) in Melbourne by designing and constructing an exhibition stand that was entirely recyclable or reusable—the first of its kind in the industry.
Why We Made the Change:
- Environmental Responsibility: Traditional exhibition stands often result in significant waste, with materials frequently discarded after a single use. This practice contributes to environmental degradation and contradicts sustainable principles.
- Industry Leadership: As a leader in the events industry, Moreton Hire recognised the importance of setting a positive example by adopting and showcasing sustainable practices.
- Client Demand: There was a growing demand from clients for environmentally friendly solutions that align with their corporate social responsibility goals.
Our Sustainable Solution:
- Material Selection: The stand was constructed using materials that were either recyclable or designed for reuse. This approach ensured that post-event, components could be repurposed or recycled, significantly reducing waste.
- Modular Design: Incorporating a modular design allowed for flexibility and adaptability, enabling the stand to be reconfigured for future events, thereby extending its lifecycle.
- Sustainable Signage: Utilising sustainable signage solutions, such as those made from 100% recycled materials, further minimised the environmental footprint of the stand.
By implementing these strategies at AIME 2020, Moreton Hire not only showcased its commitment to sustainability but also demonstrated the viability of eco-friendly practices in the events industry. This pioneering effort has paved the way for more sustainable exhibition solutions, influencing industry standards and encouraging others to adopt similar practices.
