As Australian organisations increasingly pursue opportunities in international markets, Moreton Hire continues to support clients exhibiting overseas while investing in the next generation of talent within Australia’s business events industry.
Recent projects include the Australian Pavilion at Sea Air Space 2026 in Maryland, USA, where Australian organisations were showcased alongside leading defence and maritime businesses from around the world. As these international opportunities grow, they are also providing valuable development pathways for emerging professionals entering the industry.
Among the delivery team was Account Manager Maddie Whitty, who travelled to Maryland less than a year after joining the business. For Maddie, the experience provided firsthand exposure to the planning, logistics and onsite delivery of a major international exhibition.
“To be involved in a project of this scale so early in my career was an incredible opportunity,” she said.
“The experience challenged me professionally and gave me a much deeper understanding of what goes into delivering events on an international stage. I’m incredibly grateful for the trust and support shown by the team.”
Moreton Hire Chief Operating Officer Simon Morahan said investing in people has always been an important part of the company’s commitment to the Australian business events industry.
“For more than 55 years, Moreton Hire has invested heavily in the events and exhibitions sector, not only through infrastructure and project delivery, but through people,” he said.
“As our clients increasingly participate in international exhibitions, it’s important that we continue developing the next generation of professionals who will support those activities into the future. Providing emerging talent with exposure to global projects also helps strengthen both individual careers and the future capability of Australia’s business events industry.”
Projects such as Sea Air Space demonstrate the important role exhibitions and trade events play in connecting Australian businesses with global markets — while giving emerging professionals like Maddie experiences that would typically take years to access, helping build the skills and confidence that will shape the future of Australia’s business events industry.
