The IHG National Expo 2019, held from February 18th to 20th at the Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC), brought together the largest gathering of hardware retail experts and suppliers in the country. The event served as a dynamic platform for the Independent Hardware Group (IHG) members, including those from Mitre 10, Home Timber & Hardware, Thrifty-Link, and True Value stores across Australia. Moreton Hire was the primary exhibition contractor, ensuring a seamless and impactful experience for over 200+ exhibitors and thousands of attendees.

The major event spanned two main halls and multiple levels of the Adelaide Convention Centre, combining professional conference areas, supplier fairs, and networking spaces into a comprehensive experience for participants. Featuring over 220 exhibitors, Moreton Hire meticulously planned and executed the event, ensuring an exceptional experience for both exhibitors and attendees. Our scope included building shell schemes, custom stands, furniture, signage, lighting, and flooring, creating a professional and visually appealing setup. The event’s success underscored the IHG National Expo’s role as a premier exhibition in the home improvement, timber, and building supplies industry. The first day of the IHG National Expo focused on business insights and workshops, providing IHG members with practical solutions to industry challenges. The subsequent two days transformed the Adelaide Convention Centre into a dynamic hub of hardware innovation, with over 220 exhibitors showcasing products, offering exclusive deals, and engaging directly with top retailers. This interaction resulted in significant business transactions, with the previous year’s Expo generating over $18 million in sales.

Moreton Hire provided comprehensive exhibition infrastructure, including indoor and outdoor signage, shell schemes, and furniture fit-outs. This year, we employed our Syma Booth Exhibition Systems to deliver a polished finish for exhibitors. Key features included custom stand builds for three main coffee stations, a Jig Saw Puzzle signage area, exclusive member zones, an Outdoor Living feature area, Pallet Alleys, two presentation zones, and catering and seating areas. Behind the scenes, our dedicated team—comprising two Account Directors, one Account Manager, two Account Coordinators, five Project Managers, four Supervisors, and over 60 additional staff—ensured a seamless delivery and build, reinforcing Moreton Hire’s commitment to excellence in major exhibitions.
