Moreton Hire was engaged to design and deliver custom-built press and media tribunes across three major stadiums during the British & Irish Lions rugby tour in Australia. These installations supported international media coverage for high-profile matches at Allianz Stadium, Sydney (Lions vs Waratahs), GIO Stadium, Canberra (Lions vs Brumbies), and Accor Stadium, Sydney (Wallabies vs Lions). Each tribune spanned approximately 20 to 30 meters in length and was in place for a single match, with only a few days allocated for bump-in and bump-out. To meet the functional and aesthetic demands of the project, Moreton Hire deployed a tailored combination of Flex Deck stage panels, Syma counters, general power and electrics, and Volt chairs and stools—creating elevated, ergonomic workspaces with reliable infrastructure for media professionals.
The project presented several logistical challenges, including limited accessibility into grandstands, tight timelines, and varying stadium layouts. Through detailed pre-site inspections and custom logistics planning, the team overcame narrow access points and tiered seating constraints using lightweight modular systems. The flexibility of the components allowed for seamless adaptation to each venue’s unique requirements, while experienced crews ensured efficient installation and pack-down. The result was a series of professional, comfortable, and fully functional media tribunes that integrated seamlessly into each stadium environment. Moreton Hire’s execution was recognised for its high-quality finishes, reliable infrastructure, and ability to deliver under pressure—reinforcing its reputation as a trusted partner for temporary infrastructure in live sporting events.
