Moreton Hire warehouse transforms into vaccination hub

In 2021, the Moreton Hire Melbourne warehouse was refurbished to provide a vaccination facility for the Western Melbourne logistics & distribution industry. The site vaccinated over 4000 key workers over the period of August to October 2021.

General Manager of Sales at Moreton Hire, Warwick McCalman, said it was some quick and innovative thinking by the team that led to offering the space to health officials.

“We have been using furniture, marquees and walling to help build sites all over Melbourne. Fortunately this had created space in our warehouse. We noted quickly how our site had all the necessary facilities to quickly build a new vaccination site to service this area.”

Director of Moreton Hire, Peter Morahan, said he is extremely proud of the response by his team to the COVID pandemic challenge.

“As a company, we made a commitment to not sit idle when the pandemic arrived. It has been full steam ahead, working collectively to innovate and pivot our offering” Mr Morahan said. “We have been fortunate to have the right products to help health departments with their requirements.”

Mr Morahan said the company has been able to redeploy resources typically used to build iconic Australian events and exhibitions over this time.

Moreton Hire continue to support the Health sector in Victoria, with ongoing Vaccination Hubs, COVID-19 testing, Emergency Department Surge, Ambulance Bays, Staff Restrooms and both Staff and Patient Rapid-Antigen Testing spaces all utilising our temporary indoor and outdoor infrastructure.
