Did you know the Royal Exhibition Building in Victoria was one of the many venues used 102 years ago to deal with the Spanish Flu pandemic? Between March and August 1919, this location was transformed into a hospital and treated over 4000 patients.
The REB is now becoming part of history once again. Today, the team from St Vincent’s Hospital are using this space to administer the COVID vaccine, treating over half a million COVID-19 vaccinations.
Built within a few days, this site includes partition walling for vaccination and testing cubicles. The site includes; seating for 300, medical cubicles with medical grade curtains either side for privacy, multi secure pharmacy hubs, multiple office spaces for Doctors and Administration, staff breakout areas, changerooms, Don / Doff rooms, crowd control equipment, furniture supply, large scale electrical reticulation for power, heating & lighting, lighting throughout the medical cubicles, plumbing including hot and cold water units, carpet and floor coverings where required, storage areas and signage.
