SUBCON 2023 MELBOURNE

SUBCON2023 was a major business event that brought together Subway’s franchisees, managers, sandwich artists(TM), vendors and partners all in one place! From 19th – 21st May, delegates and exhibitors were invited to attend the Convention at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Three jam packed days of trade exhibition, technical sessions, leadership presentations, keynote speakers, vendor awards, panel discussions, gala awards dinner and finishing it all off with a ‘Sunday Session’ at South Wharf Promenade.

Moreton Hire were thrilled to be the primary trade show contractor to help Subway bring their Convention to life! Working closely with our client Cre8it Events, Moreton Hire executed the exhibition build including registration areas, breakout and feature zones, signage, flooring, furniture, lighting, AV and power.

“We pride ourselves on the strong relationships we build with our suppliers, with Moreton Hire as no exception. Since starting our business in 2005, we have worked alongside Moreton Hire in delivering the bi-annual Subway Conventions and SUBCON2023 did not disappoint! Their team consistently provide experience-based advice and suggestions, while working within tight timeframes and budget. We’ve never found them to be anything short of accommodating and professional and look forward to working with them again on SUBCON2025.”
– Kate Bishop (Cre8it Events)

Tidy registration desks

The event organiser had expressed to Moreton Hire their past frustrations with untidy registration counters and desks – technology cords and registration printers being their two pain points. Moreton Hire used our existing counters and double skinned the fronts to allow a tiny gap on the registration desks to feed cords and printer paper through. This solution ensured a neat and tidy presentation to attendees and was a successful solution we will most definitely be using again.

An expo with moving parts!

Usually with exhibitions we bump in, then bump out. SUBCON2023 was a bit different! After the Trade Show Welcome Reception on the first night of the Convention, Moreton Hire were engaged to re-enter the trade show area and dismantle 70% of the exhibition booths. In its place we then built a catering zone, which served the Convention for the remainder of weekend. This flexibility allowed Subway to make the most of their space at MCEC, and fit more into their jam packed Convention schedule
