Moreton Hire, a leading provider of temporary infrastructure, played a key role as the preferred temporary building provider for the Brisbane Domestic Airport during its extensive renovation. Part of the $5 billion Future BNE redevelopment project, this initiative is designed to enhance the airport’s capacity and passenger experience in preparation for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
As Brisbane Airport underwent a major transformation, Moreton Hire delivered temporary structures to ensure operational continuity throughout the renovation. These structures supported critical airport functions, including:
- Customs Check-In: Enabling seamless passenger processing during terminal upgrades.
- Baggage Carousel: Maintaining efficient baggage handling to minimize wait times.
- Pet Protection Areas: Providing secure and comfortable facilities for traveling pets
A key factor in the successful delivery of this project was the leadership of a qualified Construction Manager from Moreton Hire. Overseeing the entire build process, the Construction Manager ensured seamless coordination, smooth execution, and compliance with all operational requirements, particularly within the highly regulated airport environment.
Dan Morahan, General Manager at Moreton Hire, emphasised the advantages of modular solutions in complex projects:
“Our clear-span structures, capable of spanning up to 50 meters wide and as long as required, are engineered to the Australian Building Code. They can be quickly installed, often within days, and are suitable for long-term use, even in airside environments.”
