Exhibition and Event supplier, Moreton Hire, has delivered a fully re-usable and recyclable stand at AIME2020 in Melbourne.
Leading the way in the industry, all components of the Moreton Hire stand – including floor, walls and signage – are all either 100% recyclable, consciously sourced or will be re-used at future events.
The stand includes; digital printed signage on a paper-based substrate, 100% recyclable carpet, re-usable extrusion packed down to reduce transport carbon footprint, low wattage energy efficient lighting and fabric banners that are recycled post event.
Peter Morahan, Managing Director of Moreton Hire, says the company’s commitment to finding better solutions that reduce waste in our industry is long overdue.
“Our theme for 2020 is Changes Today for a Better Tomorrow. While we’re not there yet, we’ve made a commitment to reduce our waste and take this seriously. We’re talking about ‘mdf-free’ exhibitions as our goal – it’s ambitious but we have to start somewhere,” Mr Morahan said.
Mr Morahan said that while the hire industry by its nature promotes the re-use of items versus buying, there is still significant waste in and around storage and particularly the building of custom stands and temporary spaces.
“Only last week, we delivered our first show that used 100% recyclable fascia signs. It’s these small incremental changes, that we know will culminate in a big difference in the way we build events and exhibitions in Australia,” Mr Morahan said.
